I received a call from a friend saying when he tries to uninstall his old McAfee Security, he gets the message“mcafee.com/agent/uninst/vsoremui.dll” missing! Where can he get the .dll – or is there any other way to get rid of all these icons and stuff?

 

In normal cases, people can uninstall McAfee Security as you would any other program with steps below to uninstall with the Windows uninstaller. But, for Windows 7/Vista, only Windows administrators can uninstall McAfee Security.

1. Click Start, Search, type Programs and Features, and click Go.

2. Double-click Programs and Features.

3. Select the McAfee Security product.

4. Click Uninstall and follow the steps provided.

 

Maybe it’s because trial versions of these products were preinstalled when the customer purchased the computer, or maybe you want to uninstall McAfee and install another antivirus software product. If after using add and remove programs you are still unable to uninstall McAfee Security, Perfect Uninstaller can be your last resort. 1. Quit and exit any currently running applications on your desktop.

4. Click any component that starts with McAfee on the program list of Perfect Uninstaller and click uninstall to begin the removal.

5. Click the “Uninstall” button to start the removal.

6. Follow the onscreen steps to finish the removal and reboot your computer.

 

Then, Force Uninstall McAfee Security if you still detect them in the hard drive after restarting computer.

1. Find the directories directly in the hard drive where you locate the McAfee Security, such as

2. C:\Program Files\McAfee

3. C:\Program Files\McAfee.com

4. Right click the directory to select “Uninstall With PU” to start the removal.

5. Follow the on screen steps to finish the removal.

6. Reboot computer and repeat the Uninstall process until all the directories of McAfee Security are gone.啊
